Personally, I find New Balance's response to this situation to be quite troubling. To simply respond to questions about the misrepresentation of the product by pointing to the benefits of the new materials used in its production, rather than acknowledging that they erred, seems to me to be less than straightforward. I purchased these shoes specifically on the basis of their claims that the shoes had both the steel toe and were lighter in weight, anticipating (I think quite reasonably) that they would provide better protection as well as comfort. Given the fact that the New Balance's claims are not accurate, i might as well stay with Reeboks which I find to be quite comfortable and offer generally adequate protection. I will no longer purchase New Balance products.

I had the same experience with the finish as well.

The all black plate shoe will be fine... The toe logo on the black and white model is too much... The zigs do take extra work to clean... Lookss like they did ad some traction, at least on the football models.

Boyinr....Which cp is your favorite, and why? I am a gear junkie too. All Star, Douglas, WV Gold. 3 different SGs and 4 masks. I have owned everything except a Nike mask and a Riddell Power. I will wait to see how others fair with the Unequal. I doubt the physics. The video didn't prove a thing to me. I have never been hit in a staged and controlled manner. If I had $$$$ on the line ( like JE does) I could nut it up and take a glacing blow wearing any of my gear.
