In the FSU BC game on Saturday Jameis Winston shoves a ref twice and gets by with it!

This was clearly a confrontational move by this kid.

The list of crap this guy has allegedly done grows by the day BUT he is allowed to get by with the holy grail of NO-NO in sports- physical confrontation with an official.

Has football reached this level? The coaches that continue berate the sideline official for everything the other officials do, Will Muschamp comes to mind, seems to be getting worse!

Clearly ejecting Jameis Winston, Heisman Trophy winner, in a late season game could be a career ending move for the officials BUT not even a USC penalty?

Mike Periera’s take on this take on this:

No penalty was called. But as the NFL’s former Vice President of Officiating and current rules analyst for FOX Sports Mike Pereira explains, the former Heisman Trophy winner should have been ejected.

After the first down play, the Seminoles made a substitution so the defense had the right to substitute as well, even in a hurry-up offense. The center judge, Michael Webster, was doing his job, standing behind the center putting his hand on Winston to keep him from snapping the ball. Winston came to the line of scrimmage and literally pushed Webster twice in an attempt to snap the ball. He did snap the ball, by the way, and completed a 7-yard pass to Dalvin Cook.

I’ve looked at this play several times, and in my opinion, Winston should have been penalized for shoving Webster not once, but twice. In fact, I feel he should have been ejected.

Contact with an official can clearly lead to an ejection. Webster was doing his job, which was to hold the snap until the referee cleared him in this situation. Winston clearly pushes him out of the way so he can get the snap off.

I would like to see him push @Jocko, @Majordave, @Pete Peterson Sr or Jr, @jaxrolo or ME in a baseball game! It would be an interesting 2-3 minutes!

What is next for this prima donna thug?

Here's why:

Dave Cutia, ESPN's college officiating expert and the former Pac-10 coordinator of officiating, said FSU should have been penalized 15 yards and Winston should have been ejected for the contact.

Fisher, though, was pleased the officials did not levy punishment.

"They did a good job on that from that standpoint," he said. "I think they understood what was going on. Those guys handled that part of the game. They managed the game itself and that part, I thought, very good. They did a very nice job."

Coaches have a lot of pull with the conference officiating crews.  What do you expect Fisher to say?  Of course he's going to say "great call" "great discretion" blah, blah, blah.

Everyone seems to be scared to put Winston in his place

You would not Chief.

Anyone shoving me is not going to be very pleasant for them.

I can hurt somebody 27 different ways just with my index finger! lol

This situation annoys me. Not in and of itself, if the ref is okay with getting shoved, whatever, that's his prerogative I guess, but because of the potential trickle down.

Kids see this, and see this referee just move out of the way, and think it's funny, or that it's an okay thing to do. Winston pushed a ref, and not only was he not punished, but it worked! The referee got out of the way and Winston completed a pass.

Am I saying we'll have a rash of kids pushing officials now? Of course not, but it sure doesn't help matters.

I think the situation in its self is magnified because every sports station wants to blast Winston because people dislike him so much. I watch a lot of College football and thats the first time i've ever seen a referee stand between the center and the quarterback while letting the defense get their subs in.

IMO the referee was out of position. Winston has a job to do and if that involves running the hurry up offense he has the right to be under center and snap the ball with the referee moves from OVER THE BALL. I've also watched the video numerous times and shove isn't the word I would use. Obviously the official didn't see it as ejection worthy.

You are wrong the NCAA passed a rule allow for defesive substitutions, in certain times of the game.  Dont be one of those people who comment on rules they don't know!!!!

Ok they are working the new 8 man mechanics. The umpire  no longer stands over the ball to prevent the snap.  The new 8th official (the Center Judge)holds up the snap by staying between the QB and center and not over the ball because he retreats into the Offensive backfield opposite the Referee. He was preventing the snap because of the new rule allowing the defense to substitute .

If that is the true mechanics they work in college football, that is the first time all year i've seen an official stand between the QB and the center instead of standing over the ball.

As much as I hate to say it, Jocko will defend this idiot to his last breath. He coached the jackass when he was a kid. I had him at least four times in HS, and never had any issues with him. But he has done everything in his power to flaunt his misbehavior, and his coach and university continue to enable him.

I just watched the video for the first time. For anyone to say this is nothing is a total FSU homer. You can't physically move officials like that. Total disrespect. It's a shame that Fischer and FSU enable this behavior.

The ACC just came out with a statement and said that the push of the official was "insignificant"

The ACC won't suspend him because they will crash and burn.  They are the only hope that $h!++y football conference has to get a team into the playoffs.

It's sad, he can do whatever he wants with ZERO consequences.

Here's my $.02

If he were playing for Nick in Tuscsloosa, and the same thing happened, you bammers would be agreeing with the no call and hollering roll tide.

Do I agree with the call/no call? No. 15 yard penalty for USC. Plain and simple. Ejectionable? Possibly. I'm not familiar enough with NCAA football rules to have an educated opinion on this matter.

Do I believe in this KID? Absolutely. And as for what's next? He'll be the next Bo Jackson/Deion Samders dual sport professional athlete.

Love him or hate him, he's STILL the real deal. And he's still a KID. CHILD. Someone's baby. And yes. I will defend him. His father would do the same for my children.

Carry on the hatred. I'm used to it. But don't ya wish you team could beat them? Don't you wish ANYONE could beat them? JUST ONCE?
