Watching Japan - South Korea on DVR. SK batters setting up toward back of box forces Japan catcher a little back. That's when I notice that the back line of the LL catchers box doesn't give the catcher much room back there. A 90 foot diamond catcher's box gives the catcher 8 feet from point of plate. The LL triangle gives him 6.36 feet. I dont know how PONY and others scale the rectangular catcher's box. In any case, it wouldn't matter to me where the catcher sets up (in OBR) but It is an interesting anomaly.

The weird thing about that diagram (and this has bothered me for years) is that 3 feet in the front of the box is pictured much shorter than the 3 feet in the back of the box.   The diagram shows the batter's box centered on the point of home plate but the dimensions dictate that the batter's box is centered on the line 8.5 inches from the front, cutting off the triangle part.

I think they need to redo their diagrams. The current book has the intermediate field with 90' base paths and the JR/SR with 70'.
