Guy's ,

You've probably seen a number of times where I've referenced a new and improved U-E coming soon. Well it's right around the corner, and I think you're going to enjoy it with new and/or enhanced features, better software, new look and feel. I've resolved many issues in cross browser compatibility which I know those who view the site in Firefox will appreciate, and the new site will be iPhone, as well as other smart phone brands, friendly for ease in mobile browsing.

Don't worry though, the interface will be very similar, easier to navigate and more intuitive.

But it's not just about the look. I've been keeping the members at the front of my mind with this and have arranged some great things for you as well.

Why am I telling you this now?

Well, in order to make some of the necessary changes I will have to bring the site down for a while. As of right now, I plan on closing Umpire-Empire on December 20th and re-opening on the sites 3rd anniversary 1/1/11. I will be sending out an email to all members closer to that date.

I want to give you plenty of time to stock of on your anxiety medicine :D of choice to get you through this brief period of withdrawl.
I'll keep you updates as to any changes to the plan.

Thanks,
Warren

I'm with Andrew. I know it is necessary but wow, that's going to be ugly. I run a HS basketball tournament between Christmas and New Year's. Going to be a long tournament.

If you need any help with testing, etc. let me know. I won't have anything else to do.

Ya huh.

Hoping the upgrade will allow me to view the forum without all the graphics and red bars. Dead giveaway to the other monkeys in this cage that I am not working.

Warren, I will assume that you're going to have a notice posted on December 20th? I'd hate to lose people, who think the site has been shut down.

I'll have notices, be sending emails and make sure people know I haven't disappeared or permanantly shut down. I'll do my best to have it up before then. 1/1/11 is just the final day I'm giving myself to get everything done.

Didn't realize you were old enough to remember McGriff's. I though that was reserved to Pete, Stan and me. :yippie: :rollinglaugh:

I wonder if I'll get some kind of bonus at work for being so productive during the shutdown... hope they don't start to expect work out of me!

THIS IS A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE !!! The only proper thing for you to do is send each member a bottle of their favorite beverage. Maker's Mark will do nicely for me. PM me if you need my address.
