I caught this play and this play only for the 5 minutes of the game I caught while eating breakfast. Announcers are all big talk because they know the Umpires can't say anything back to them. On account of not hearing them.

WOW! What about the Announcers being held accountable and not the Umpires!
I used to be a really good Baseball Player until my eyes started going bad. So I became an Umpire!

The manual states that if the umpire judges the pitcher to have intentionally thrown at the hitter that you can eject w/o warning.
You have to eject here.
Hawk just flames the umpires, he can say whatever he wants, b/c the average homer White Sox fan agrees with him.

Agree, Wegner should have warned as a matter of game management. However, everyone on the field knew why Pierzynski got doinked, so that should have been the end of it.
Agree, when the pitch behind the batter is that obvious, immediate EJ. It is also a strong statement that any more BS will not be tolerated.
Agree, Harrelson likes the attention.

he's a clown and a buffoon...but he's not entirely wrong. It wasn't just AJ hit, Beckham got hit as well. Should have warned, then both sides are even and everyone knows it's over. The reaction was hyperbolic and ridiculous, but there was a nugget of truth buried in there.

The ump doesn't know what the game is about? Really?

As I;m reading this I find it a bit ironic that I have the Brewers @ Dodgers game on in the background and hearing Vin Scully's beautiful description of the game is just pure soothing to the soul. What an absolute contrast to to Hawk. I don't even need to lift my head and watch to know what is going on in the game. He doesn't need to ramble endlessly with a partner. and doesn't really editorialize.
Where is the next generation of Vin Scully???
I would love to know what the epitome of class acts in announcing has to say about these announcers who desecrate his life calling.

Yep. Every time warnings are issued, the idiots like Hawk go on and on about how "That isn't necessary".
