Introducing the Umpire- Empire Member of the Month. The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to Ump-Attire.com

Each month the members of the site will nominate then elect a member of the month. This can be based on any selection criteria you feel is important. You can consider the members entire "body of work" in making your nomination. But this is not intended to be a popularity contest. The 3 members with the most nominations and seconds will be placed in a poll for members to vote on a winner. Nominations will be open from now to the 14th of the month. Voting will be from the 15th to the end of the month. Winner to be announced the beginning of the month (January).

The nomination process:
  • To be eligible to nominate or vote you must have made at least 20 posts.
  • You may nominate as many eligible members as you would like
  • You may second as many nominees as you would like
  • To nominate someone just create a post in this thread with the username of who you'd like to nominate and give a reason if you would like
  • To second the nomination you can either click the like button in the original nomination or create a post seconding a nomination
  • The top 3 nominees will be placed in a poll for voting
  • If there is a tie for 3rd in the nomination process then both/all tied will be placed in the poll for the final vote.
Eligibility to be nominated:
  • I (Warren/UIC) am not eligible.
  • Any member nominated must have made a post in the last 30 days
  • Once a member has won they are ineligible for the next 3 months
Rule 9.01 © - modified

I would like to nominate
Fittske24 for Member of the Month. His recent contributions to several threads including the one about Plate Positioning make him worthy of this honor!

I did second this, but my additional reason is for his passion for equipment, and how he appears to others on the field. Top notch!

I'd also like to nominate Kevin Finnerty.

An unbelievable wealth of information on just about everything , ....and , ...no BS to go with it. He'll give you the entire scoop, even if it means leveling some harsh words to do it. And, that's ok ... it's cut and dried, simple, black & white,...no gray with the Finn-master!

Since I thought about this contest I have been thinking about who I would nominate. So I've created a little list of those I would nominate and will nominate one a month.

This month I decided I would nominate Thunderheads (Jeff)

There is almost an ongoing joke or even expectation that when there is a noteworthy play which needs to be discussed Thunderheads will have it posted as soon as it is available. Believe me I know while it seems simple enough it is time consuming.

But these posts really add to the discussion, learning we have here.

He seems to really need that Gift Certificate.

Too soon?

One week remains in the nomination process. If you would like to nominate somebody now is the time to do it so they can get seconded.

I second this. IMO, Fittske24 should win solely for the pic he posted recently.

So do the polls close at Pacific or Eastern time tonight???? LOL j/k can we start the 2nd's and voting!
At any given moment half the people like you and half of them hate you. Out of the half that hate you only half of them know the rules. So really only 25% of them hate you at any given time.... I like those odds!

Everything is eastern time. You guys on the left coast have it made, wake up and there's a game on, enjoy sports all day long and when the final west coast game ends you still have time to screw around and don't have to worry about being late to work the next day.
