Is it possible to set up a way to share blogs through our profiles?

I can't remember which forum used to do that, but I thought it was a nice function to be able to read about the other members games they chose to blog about.

Just a thought............

I had blogs on an erlier version of the site, but ther were never too popular much to my disappointment :crybaby2:

This is something I believe I could bring back if there is interest.

I always thought of starting one..... I'd also read them!

The trick is they have to appear in some sort of "main stream".

I.e:
1. Facebook
2. "View New Content" on U-E.
3. RSS feed

When it comes to traditional blogs, folks forget to "go there".

My thoughts exactly. I would probably read the blog posts on a fairly regular basis if they were all agreggated into one feed. But I wouldn't go seach out each individual user's blog to see if they've made a recent post.

Exactly. I use RSS feeds through Google Reader, which works out great.

There is a blog add on for the software and you can get rss feeds for and they will appear under new content when they are updated. I'm not sure if it is something I would purchase for the site based on the lack of use of the last blog. But my arm could be twisted...

My vote would be not to buy it. While I would be interested to read some of the members' blogs (others probably not so much) I don't think it's worth you spending money on.

Honestly, each thread here serves the same purpose.

I am trying to imagine what functionality the blog software offers that the standard forum does not.

I see the difference as being that some people like long form informational posts which have little feedback or discussion just quicker comments.

Having the blogs is not necessarily about the price, it is relatively inexpensive, but just the use.

But... I could use the articles system to create blogs the structure is virtually identical

http://umpire-empire...view=categories

I could create a category here "blogs" then each member who was interested could have their own Blog "Warren's blog" the comments system works the exact same.

SO anybody who is interested, just let me know and I'll set up them up a blog.
