In planning on updating the site I notice the section "Level of play" is the least used section.

I am thinking of merging the content under this section into appropriate sections under " Speak out" other than the Professional section because that is used the most. I would then move the Professional to its own category under Speak Out.

Thoughts?

The level of play seems to be ignored all the time anyway. Someone asks a FED question, responses come in for LL, college, and whatever. So It makes sense to get rid of the segregation.

What about having a photo gallery section for personal and group or both? Or making so members are able to add what level of ball you umpire on your profile?
At any given moment half the people like you and half of them hate you. Out of the half that hate you only half of them know the rules. So really only 25% of them hate you at any given time.... I like those odds!

Do you mean a personal photo gallery in your profile?

I think we should be able to have our own personal gallery on our profile and have a section to share with others, or have a group gallery as well. And if anyone has a clinic and wants to put up pics that would be a place to do it as well. Same can be true of new products coming out to the market, or equipment questions.

I would also add a section for Clinic information. Make something like an U-E calendar. I think it would be helpful for guys. Just a thought.

The calendar is a Fantastic idea. Make it wiki-style so users can post events to it.

Pete's clinic list is nice but it must be hard for one person to keep it updated, and I always forget to look.

A centralized, community-driven calendar makes a lot of sense.

If the forum software doesn't have a decent calendar module, then a Google calendar can be easily integrated/embedded in to the site and is easily viewable on any device and can be included on other folks personal calendars for convenience, if users choose to use that feature.

A calendar is easy to do and the software has a calendar feature I just don't have activated, but will look into that.

Already started adding some local clinics. Someone should really make sure that the rest of the forum knows that this new feature exists.

I predict this will be one of the best clinic listing sources on the interwebs. Warren, you may want to consider putting a permalink/banner ad on the home page if this works out. This time next year, this will be THE place to get info about clinics and other events. This will bring new umpires to U-E, as well.

This is something the other sites do not do well, right now.

Apparently by default I have to approve all posts to the Calendar, but the posts do not appear in my items to be approved. I will check the settings and see if I can adjust this over the weekend. I will also look at calendar upgrades available.
