thats a nice looking GD stance. Only thing I would say ump_24 would be that you need to be further back... and for gosh sakes... get some plate shoes!!!

BT Blue,

It's a modified GD like Brian C uses...I'm in the slot and further back than that angle makes it appear.

RE the plate shoes - not sure where that came from, but I have the original Reebok Field Magistrates on. The left one even has a nice shine on it from the lights!

Im guilty of that too honestly. I use a heal-toe/lock-box style of stance as well. I also am closer than some would like in that stance as well. As for the plate shoes, my bad:smachhead:. Its probably the reflection from the lights that got me.

Considering that we're both veterans of years of warm-weather Southern California umpiring---I dunno.

Guys,

She wasn't that wonderful. Plus, she looked younger than me.

In addition, remember the story I put on the ABUA site about an ejection on the first pitch of the bottom of the 1st? It was that game. Remember the coach, who in '07, had my partner almost in tears? It was him I tossed. Well, guess which team was on the 3B side that game (and thus, the fans as well)? That team. So I wasn't looking over there between innings too often.

A comical side note: tournament convenor removed the gentleman in the blue shirt for heckling me. I didn't hear what he said or did, but heard the story from friends I had watching that game after.

The sandwiches will last for quite a while if you Febreeze 'em after each game.

Do not get the Plate shoe. They are not suitable for baseball except maybe LL Minor and Major.
It is not a steel toe, but I believe a fiberglass toe.
Get plate shoes with steel only. Anything else can break and cause additional damage to toes.
The base shoe is great.

The sandwich's are made fresh every morning I do games by GF. :meditation:
She ensures I am well supplied on days I have multiple games.
Of course she gets a cut of game fees. :HS

RE: plate shoes

Semper is correct. 3N2 are a fibreglass toe.

I reccommend the RBK ones.

RE: sandwiches

Must be nice. I wish I got that kind of service. :meditation:
